These little ones of mine love to learn on the move. They like to touch things, reach and stretch, run and jump, and use all of those great big muscles they are forming. But guess what? Learning with a whole body is a fabulous way to really retain that learning. Here are some wonderful way to get those little ones moving as they learn the letters and sounds.

Summary:
I love combining any kind of learning with physical activity. Two birds. One stone. So we’re going to learn some letters while burning off some of that infinite energy (I mean seriously, if we could harness the energy of just 2 toddlers…). So because 1) letters are boring and 2) races are fun, I decided to put them together and see what would happen!

We are on an alphabet activities kick right now and loving it! Nothing like exposing little ones to the alphabet early in fun, simple activities that they can be hugely successful at. This Letter Hunt was a great way to build on my toddler’s growing literacy skills. Fun and easy alphabet activities are so great for kids, and this Letter Hunt is no exception! It was a simple activity but perfect for my toddler.

Here’s another fun alphabet activity for kids – alphabet bingo! This game is simple to make with materials you have on hand, and my preschooler loved it. I made bingo cards with 16 letters on each card. I wanted each card to have a nice assortment of letters, but not the entire alphabet so that Jonathan would have to figure out whether his card had that letter or not. We used LEGO bricks for the bingo markers. I keep a box of square bricks in our school room for counting, patterns, etc. They’re very handy!
