Kids love pizza! I created this Pretend Pizza Shop in our Dramatic Play Center for my little pizza eaters! My littles love to pretend to be Chef’s in the Pizza Shop. I love that they are working together, negotiating roles and role-playing. Another bonus to this Pizza Shop set is the students are writing up order forms and tickets as they play! Check out what we have in this Pretend Play Center.

Summary:
Many adults dread laundry day, but my young kids love it! While it’s another task that we struggle to find time to complete, young kids delight in the opportunity to load clothes into the washing machine, move those washed clothes to the dryer, and push the buttons to start the washer and dryer. Even more, they love playing with cardboard boxes, so I turned two big boxes into a laundry day pretend play activity.

Summary:
It is one of those centers that is so fun and complex that the students play with it for our entire center time (almost an hour and a half!). In fact, it’s so much fun that I’ve had neighborhood kids (all the way to 6th grade) ringing my doorbell this week asking to come play at preschool because they’ve heard that I have something fun set up. How great is that!

Summary:
I’m sure that you can think of a kid or two who, like my son, might not be able to experience the joy of caring for real, live animals. Try this idea for a dramatic play area to give all of your kids the opportunity to shower animals with lots and lots of love. Perhaps dramatic play will even help kids with self-regulation so that they can start caring for real-life animals.
